I had the honour of shooting South Africa’s president Cyril Ramaphosa for a magazine cover.

I wasn’t given a lot of time in the first place, and I needed to set up in reception area at his house not suited for photography. To make matters worse he was then delayed by an hour because of urgent state business. So when he arrived it was tense and very formal. Luckily I asked him to give me some presidential swag, and that made him laugh and relax.
