When I met Rich he was working out of his mom’s garage. He showed me some of his early work and I loved it, so agreed to shoot his first few collections for free. We had no budget and had to get the whole team on favours. We mostly shot in my TV room because we definitely couldn’t afford a studio, but the fashion was beautiful and the shoots were incredible, and Rich rapidly blew up.

As Rich shook up the SA industry, we attracted a lot of hate, but Rich used it and grew from it, to the point that he is now one of the biggest, if not the biggest, name in SA Fashion.

We’ve drifted apart, but I will always have so much love for him, and this early work we did together. Would have been impossible without the team, none of which were paid.
